Criticize my mt lion mount.
« on: February 21, 2009, 03:02:03 PM »
What do you think of this cat, especialy his eyes. I heard through the grape vine that the guy I mounted this for disliked it so much he took it to another taxidermist and had the eyes redone. He wanted a steal on the mount and said he would get his own base, then put it on a forum like this and hammered me about it not being on a base. He only paid 1000 dollars for the mount. >:( >:(

I wouldn't have it in the house.....I would wake up in the morning and it would scare me to death.  I would probably shoot it again!

 Criticize my mt lion?

Um....he needs anger management classes.  He'd meet more girls if he didn't frown so much.
Taking time to stop and smell the roses is important.   :chuckle:

i think the pose is great, all the work looks great, but i do think his eyes look wierd...too big or not the right shape or something, they just look off a bit. eyes seem to be tough to get right on with lions.

looks okay. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of the eyes and the way the ears are laid out. It looks pretty angry that way, but if that was the goal then you captured it.

I like it, that is defiantly one pissed kitty.  The eyes do look a tad off, but not bad.  It seems to me that the guy should have just told you if he was unhappy.

Generally I like the mount except for the ear lay out :twocents:

:yeah:
Smokey and I think the eyes look perfict although the cat I saw last fall ..I think he had bigger teeth!
Really ... the chest and shoulders look deep and wide like a cat just before he strikes! Good job. The body looks heavy not scraggly the hind quatrters look perfict..I don't see what his problem was.
Unless he thought there was to much filler around the eyes. To bad he didn't work with you. I dought that anyone else can do as well. Beautiful cat!
